He combines narrative choreography with mime. Through the fusion of concrete action and abstract symbolism, he showcases an innovative signature that challenges the audience. Logical understanding is not the focus here; rather, the senses of the audience are stimulated and prompted to reflect. Jannis often compares his work to an "art film," which conveys its own specific and meaningful sense.

In his performances, he works multidisciplinarily, combining various areas of the performing arts with a diverse array of expressive tools.
