Description:

“Fish and Ships” is a piece that combines visual theater and situational comedy through pantomime and tells a colorful story without words.

The story is about a patient who suddenly rushes home because he is expecting an incredibly important delivery: his long-awaited smartwatch.

In the performance, this smartwatch and the person connect optimally and even understand each other. With the constant updates and suggestions for changes from the “watch,” he hopes that this will help him to have the best possible life; but of course everything turns out completely differently than expected. The protagonist is drawn into situations by his own smartwatch that sometimes turn out to be funny, dramatic or even misleading for him.

The concept of wish/fulfillment, as well as the advertising-intensive pull of the media, gives the piece its central idea. The solo performance shows various images of mechanization/automation through elements of pantomime and dance.
